Rok espresso maker review

Stylish Bean To Cup Espresso Maker With Integrated Milk Frother. ROK , originally a crowdfunded company, is attempting to change all that by introducing a no-frills, manual espresso machine that claims to produce true, honest-to-God espresso without breaking the bank. That’s one of its best attributes. The ROK is a manual, non-electric espresso maker. No machine maintenance , no wires, and apocalypse-durable.

It even comes with a year warranty. ROK Espresso Maker Review – Can It Brew 1 Espresso ? Rok Espresso Coffee Maker – The Review of Hands-on Experience Rok Espresso Coffee Maker comes with a proposition that is uniquely attractive and you wouldn’t find the wasteful plastic pod that adds some unnecessary bulk to the machine. Hands On Review The proposition is attractive – real espresso (none of that stale and wasteful plastic-pod stuff) without the fuss of a big, temperamental, expensive machine. Just grin tamp, pour boiling water into the chamber, and use the levers to build up enough pressure – like an Aeropress on steroids. Out of the box, following manufactures instructions, the espresso is weak and bitter from over extraction.

To get good you have to hack it. We bought the Rok Espresso Maker for our campervan and have used it extensively. The coffee is cafe-quality and so easy to make. Load coffee, add boiling water and pull the arms of the Rok down to press the water through the coffee grinds into your waiting cup. Use it alongside a quality grinder and scales, and the will rival those from super-automatics ten times the price.

I am still using the original (Presso) version of ROK , and it works great after many years of use, all thanks to the repair kits and now the excellent upgrade kit available from ROK online. I love the way ROK makes it possible to repair and upgrade the product, making the coffee maker work forever, making even better coffee now after all. If you still want a ROK , read on.

I used the ROK faithfully for a long time as a daily coffee machine , pulling 2-shots a day. I have many good things to say about it—but mine has now been given to a friend now that I have the superior Flair. Ignore the hate, you absolutely can make real, quality espresso with the ROK.

The consensus among testers and consumers is that this manual espresso maker is powerful, simple to use, and can pull a great shot. But the ROK has become my favourite way of making coffee. This means it’s a little faffy for a family of coffee drinkers, but if you’re a sole slurper, it takes next to no effort to get a great coffee. I’ve since upgraded to a dual boiler machine , but something always pulls be back (pardon the pun) to this manual lever machine. I can still remember the first shot I ever pulled on the ROK.

I hand ground some beans using a Porlex. In this manual espresso machine showdown we’ll consider each machine ’s features, benefits, and limitations so you can pick the one that’s best for your habits, circumstances, and counter space. Currently, the best portable espresso maker is the Wacaco Nanopresso.
